Leo Yiu CLOCK
Hong Kong designer Leo Yiu has created a clock that protrudes at an angle from the wall it’s mounted on.
Called Insert, the timepiece has a slice cut from one side of the face that creates a flat edge for hanging it.
Yiu created the design for clock manufacturer Nextime.
Yiu describes the project as “a simple idea to change the way we see the clock”.

Top House (UGD PARTNERS PAD)
This house is not only big by itself but it also is situated on an 30,000 square foot lot. The location is just a few minutes form Beverly Hills, Bel-Air, Brentwood, and Sherman Oaks. It’s interior and exterior is a good example of contemporary design with a little inspiration from Asia. Even though a lot of materials like bamboo flooring inside the house have a dark color, the house doesn’t look moody at all. It’s filled with a lot of natural and artificial light and has an amazing koi pond at the heart of the house. Besides that carefully putted plants in many rooms also adds the space a feeling of comfort. Outside, a manicured and extensive grass-lawn is accompanied by a huge 65ft swimmers pool and grand sandbox for the kids. Read more

iPad
Apple has put an end to weeks of speculation by unveiling its tablet device, which it has called the iPad. Steve Jobs, Apple’s chief executive unveiled the touchscreen device at an event in San Francisco. Mr Jobs described the tablet, which will cost between $499 and $829 in the US, as a “third category” between smartphones and laptops. The device, which looks like a large iPhone, can be used to watch films, play games and browse the web. The firm has also done a deal with publishers including Penguin, Macmillan and Harper Collins to allow e-books to be downloaded directly to the device through a new iBook Store.
“You can download right onto your iPad,” said Mr Jobs.
He also showed off magazines and newspapers on the device.
